The SerrasHoused in a handsome 19th-century structure sporting an original façade by architect Francesc Daniel Molina on Passeig de Colom, The Serras represents a new type of luxury hotel in Barcelona – one that’s equal parts chic and discreet. The SerrasBackground in BriefOpened in January of 2015, The Serras proves some of best things in life come in small packages. In contrast to many of its flashy 5-star counterparts, entering this boutique property feels like visiting a local’s very stylish and impeccably-maintained home. Pablo Picasso reportedly painted Ciencia y Caridad on the building’s rooftop in 1897, which today features a plunge pool and buzzy El Sueño bar. The rooftop bar El Sueño marries breathtaking views of Barcelona with well-crafted classic cocktails (think gin and tonics, spritzes, and brambles) and refined light bites like avocado and tuna belly toasts.
