It’s only September, so there are three more months for other bands to assert their claim to best rock album of 2017. That the Cincinnati-originated quintet would deliver the best rock album of the year should be no surprise to anyone who has followed the group’s rise since their eponymous 2001 debut. Baltin: When you go back and listen to this album now are there little California things you hear you didn’t notice before? Baltin: Are there songs from the new album you are particularly excited to do live? There are some early songs, like “Dolled Up In Straps” or “Wasp Nest,” those songs I really love.
