The team won its fifth and most recent Super Bowl title way, way back on January 28, 1996. After the Cowboys rallied for a 36-35 victory Sunday over the New York Giants, Jones was asked what the Cowboys’ first playoff run of more than two games since 1996 would mean to him. But the Cowboys are favored by only 2½ points to beat the feisty Seattle Seahawks (10-6) in Saturday’s playoff game at home. So: A playoff run of more than two games does not seem likely for the Cowboys. Ezekiel Elliott, the former first-round draft choice who rushed for more than 1,400 yards this season, is signed through next season.
