In the last few years, creative content, short films and shows on the Internet have exploded in number, with multiple platforms in play. But what’s going to distinguish one content provider from the other are original shows, or content created especially for the digital platform. It’s about linear and non-linear—digital content is a prelude to how TV content will evolve in five-six years.”Kumar is one of the few exceptions; most believe that the content grammar for the Web is, and will continue to be, different from television. Since the beginning of the year, entertainment giant Netflix has joined the video-on-demand market that already had the blustering Hotstar and steady starter Eros Now as Web platforms for movies, TV shows, documentaries and, in some cases, sports.
