Thirty years ago today, Ayrton Senna put in a sublime drive to win a rain-affected 1993 Japanese Grand Prix in his penultimate start for McLaren. The debutant who got his attention was Eddie Irvine. During the weekend he bumped into his one-time European F3000 employer and manager Eddie Jordan. Senna: You're going to have problems, not with me only, but with lots of other guys, and also the FIA. Later a cheque from 'Ayrton Senna Productions' arrived, via a Liechtenstein bank.
