How Robredo plans to address povertyVice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo urged yesterday her fellow officials in government to “look beyond political senses” for their anti-poverty programs to succeed. While she was in Leyte, the Vice President noted the latest reports that showed 12 million of the 26 million Filipinos who live in poverty were still in extreme impoverishment. In her fight against poverty, she took to task the partnerships between the private sector and the local governments to help the poorest of the poor. The Vice President emphasized that local governments need private companies and organizations to fund their programs.
