I’ve been writing about quantitative tightening (QT) for well over a year, saying if quantitative easing (QE) made the stock market go up, QT will make it go down. Since QT started there have been two major bumps in the road for the stock market and volatility has increased dramatically from the historically low comatose trends of QE back to the general old-school skittishness of the stock market. Stocks are a great place to stuff free money, especially if you can hedge the trade and lock in a profit. However, the market looks ahead about one year, so we might just go into a bull at some point. In 2018, Chambers won Journalist of the Year in the Business Market Commentary category in the State Street U.K. Institutional Press Awards.
