Dear Liz,I could use your help calibrating just how much mistreatment I should expect to tolerate in the job-search process before telling a particular employer “Take me off your list.”I have wasted a lot of time with months-long interview processes that went nowhere. I have been asked to create whole marketing programs for free, and I’ve done it! I feel like an idiot for donating so much work during my job search, but at least I’m wiser now than I was before. I need to get better at knowing when people are wasting my time or noticing that a certain company’s recruiting process is so broken I wouldn’t want to work for them anyway. How much mistreatment should a job-seeker take before saying “See ya!”?
