How Mitch Marner’s return might impact the rest of the Leafs’ lineup
Mitch Marner practised in full with the Maple Leafs on Monday as he continues to make progress in returning from a high ankle sprain. The earliest that Marner could return to action is Wednesday, when the Leafs host the Colorado Avalanche, though it’s likely the club would prefer him to practise more before returning. “He looked great in practice today, brought a lot of energy and all of that,” said Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe. For one, Ilya Mikheyev remained with John Tavares, with Marner on the right wing. And William Nylander also remains, with Marner, John Tavares and Auston Matthews filling in the other forward roles.
