More than a cute love story, Long Shot is very much a political film with feminist ambitions (which seems all too relevant in the age of Trump). You’ll walk into Long Shot ready to laugh, but, surprisingly, you’ll walk away with some insight into how women rise in leadership positions. And while the focus for Long Shot is politics, I realized afterwards that Charlotte’s rise to power coincided with Claire Simier’s Forbes article “Roadmap For Success: Women And Executive Leadership”. In fact, every step is represented in Long Shot. And Long Shot works its case for female leadership through the prism of something we can all relate to: a love story.
