Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea’s world-record signing from Athletic Bilbao, seems to have managed the change seamlessly. He was in Spain’s World Cup squad alongside de Gea and also Pepe Reina, another with English experience. The Basque is also just 6’ 1”, not especially tall for a goalkeeper, and significantly smaller than the 6’6” Courtois. The European Champions seemingly had Courtois on their radar and so Kepa signed a new deal with Athletic with the £72m release clause. 'And that’s what I did, and during the summer, Chelsea showed strong interest in me which meant that I’m here today.
