As the Trump administration sputters and his plan to Make America Great Again looks like it’s going nowhere, I thought I might offer a very brief summary of how I’d Make America Great Again if I was put in charge (and not allowed to refuse the job, which I would try to do). I would use city-based visas to try to help places struggling with population loss become gateways for skilled immigrant communities. EducationThe federal government has limited ability to make changes for k-12, but more cities need more charters. So I’d give states money to create more high quality state universities in struggling areas, perhaps through additional campuses for existing successful schools. If we did all of these things, America would be Great Again.
