Well, Anthony William calls himself the Medical Medium, and his advice on Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle blog Goop is the most recent thing to earn the ire of Dr. Jen Gunter, a medical doctor. (If you recall, Dr. Gunter spoke out against the advice on Goop to put rocks in your vagina, a sentence which I previously thought that I would never have to say.) In a Q&A with William entitled "Why We Shouldn’t Dismiss Iodine," he advises people to take iodine supplements and claims:Iodine is essential for two main reasons: (1) your immune system relies on this mineral to function, and (2) iodine is a natural antiseptic. In her blog response, Dr. Gunter states, "Almost everything in this article is wrong and potentially dangerous," which is not exactly a ringing endorsement. Here's how incorrect medical advice can affect you even if you do not accept such advice.
