Girls Make Games teaches young girls skills like coding so that they can make their own video games. The first camp showed Shabir that Girls Make Games was filling a much needed gap in technology summer camp offerings for girls. Lauren Choi, a current Girls Make Games counselor and former camper expressed excitement at the opportunity to help new campers learn about game development. As a camper I felt like I got to really experience the game development process as a whole. The Girls Make Games Summer Camps also offer financial assistance for girls to attend whose families can’t afford the tuition cost.
