How Gachagua’s impeachment trial will unfold at Senate


The Senate is expected to begin the impeachment trial of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday. The tabling of the evidence by the National Assembly including (evidence of witnesses, if any, cross-examination and re-examination) will be held from noon to 1 pm. Kingi stated that there will be a total of three hours for the evidence of the National Assembly and a total of two hours for cross-examination. From 2:30pm to 6:30pm, the National Assembly will continue tabling its evidence. To survive the impeachment, Gachagua will have to get 23 votes from the Senate.
