No, according to many veteran scholars of Ontario politics, who see in this government’s latest moves — and in the distractions themselves — clear evidence that old, tried and true Progressive Conservative patterns now are taking hold around Ford. In substance, the emerging Ford agenda is looking much more like the Mike Harris “Common Sense Revolution” (Common Nonsense Revolution?). It’s very hard to see that because of Premier Ford’s disruptive style, with so many bombshells. That’s Doug Ford’s Toronto base. I just don’t see it as ideologically pushing to the far end of Ontario politics.
