As it turns out, some cities are better than others at unlocking the potential of women entrepreneurs. Dell just released its second annual Women Entrepreneur Cities Index (WE Cities) to assess and compare cities around the world in terms of their ability to attract and nurture high-impact women entrepreneurs. The study ranks cities, showing the impact on high-potential women entrepreneurs of local policies, programs and characteristics in addition to national laws and customs. It launched Women Entrepreneurs (WE) NYC to connect women business owners with resources, education, and each other. The WE Cities Index is a way to identify the environmental factors that allow women entrepreneurs to thrive, commented Yin Lin, cofounder of SheWorx, a community for ambitious entrepreneurs with chapters in five of the top ranked cities.
