But even though James garners the most headlines and highest paychecks for any fanfiction author, she is far from the only Twihard to turn their passion into a profession. For Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, who write together under the pen name Christina Lauren, their shared frustration with the last Twilight book led to a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster. According to Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Christina Lauren have approximately 2.5 million books (print and digital) in circulation. Like most fanfiction authors, Hobbs and Billings were motivated to write out of love and dissatisfaction.
