Part of the reason is that Chinese tech has improved, but it's also because people have greater access to reviews and spec sheets than they used to. These obscure Chinese brands know this too. The traffic stats for my Forbes articles and YouTube videos seemingly back up this thesis. Little-known Chinese brands are the most popular. In fact, so many Chinese brands are locked in such a competitive price battle that the $400 figure Hong threw out is now closer to $250 to $300.
