Leave it to Marc Benioff to turn what might have been a staid opening ceremony for San Francisco’s tallest building into an unusual mix of religion and a call to action for tech companies. Benioff recalled reading several years ago in the San Francisco Chronicle that one in 20 students in San Francisco’s public schools were homeless. “There are still thousands of people who are homeless.” Sounding an awful lot like a politician, Benioff offered a solution. … Tech wants to be part of the solution.”Businesses in San Francisco also desperately want a solution to the homeless problem. The San Francisco Chronicle has written about businesses plagued by homeless people harassing customers, and even sometimes throwing feces.
