Minigrids can provide electricity to one-third of the 1.1 billion people without access today, and promote economic development with income-generating equipment. PUE solutions can be applied to many sectors, such as agriculture, commercial and small industrial activities, public infrastructure, and health services. At AFSIA, we focus exclusively on solar-based PUE solutions. Solar cooling, comprising fridges, freezers, and cold rooms, reduces post-harvest loss, increases bargaining power for farmers, and is the ideal companion for solar irrigation. This catalog will help more solar stakeholders become aware of the potential of PUE to unlock economic activity and improve livelihoods in Africa.
