With Quebec's moratorium on evictions set to be lifted next month, residents of Montreal's Parc-Extension neighbourhood are worried the city's tight housing market could leave them with nowhere to go. "There's very little in the way of decent affordable housing available," said Amy Darwish, a community organizer with the group. "There was already a housing crisis before the pandemic.… We're genuinely worried that many tenants may find themselves on the streets." He lives in the three-bedroom apartment with his wife and four children. Before the pandemic, housing advocacy groups were already prepared for a crisis on moving day.
