The housing charity said giving landlords an option to set market rents between tenancies may result in an unintended consequence. “If the Government proceeds with the planned market rent resets, it will be crucial that the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) is raised in line with market rents,” the housing charity said. The SCSI called on the Government to pause the rental reforms.
