The parliament’s Housing Committee intends to complete a draft of the Reconciliation in Building Violations law in the coming few days to submit it to the plenary for voting at the end of March. Member of the committee Khalid Abdel Aziz said that members of the committee disagreed on the violation value, which delayed the bill. Moreover, other members wanted the fine value to be calculated based on the land and building prices. The draft law will include 16 articles. He noted that since 25 January 2011, about 135,000 building violations occur annually, while the current recorded violations stand at 1.650 million.
