JOHOR BARU: A housewife was found hanged in her house after she allegedly strangled her daughter to death at Taman Skudai Indah here. Stage Four cancer patient J. Sumathi, 45, was believed to have strangled her 10-year-old daughter K. Arthhinee to death during the incident on Thursday (Dec 28) night. Johor Baru North deputy OCPD Supt Beh Eng Lai said police received a call from the victim's husband at around 9.59pm. He added initial investigations revealed that during the incident, the husband was out working while the victim's other two children, aged between 16 and 19, were not at home as they were buying school supplies at a shopping mall in Tampoi. "As the husband and the two children arrived home that night, the family was shocked to discover Sumathi found hanged in a gym room while the body of Arthhinee was found lying in a room upstairs," he said.
