SIBU: A housewife thought she could earn a bonus by taking part in online gambling, but she ended up losing RM6,150 instead. "He introduced himself as an online gambling operator, and enticed her to take part in a game where she could receive a bonus for every game she played," he added. On March 12, the victim transferred RM6,150 to an account which belonged to one Maria Anthony Paramasivan so that she could qualify to play the game. It was then that she realised that she had been duped by the man because she had yet to receive the first bonus but was asked to transfer more money. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
