Crest Nicholson lost 6 per cent of its value this morning after being downgraded by the broker Peel Hunt Phil Noble/ReutersUncertainty about Brexit and tomorrow’s scheduled parliamentary vote has added additional pressure to shares in British housebuilders. Peel Hunt gave warning that the short-term outlook for builders remained volatile, with some deferring purchases until there is more clarity on Brexit. It tumbled 20½p, or 6.1 per cent, to 317p. Peel Hunt also downgraded Barratt and Berkeley to “add” and Taylor Wimpey to “hold”. They fell 1.7 per cent, 0.6 per cent and 1 per cent respectively.
