THE House of Representatives will suspend work from March 16 to April 12 in line with the “community quarantine” implemented by the government to help curb spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). The House has adopted the order from the executive department that did not cover the Congress, the Legislative branch of government. Montales said a rotating skeletal workforce would be implemented in some departments during the work suspension. Meanwhile, committee hearings, briefings, and conferences that would tackle measures on the Covid-19 outbreak may still be conducted at the House, Montales said. “In those events, measures that would minimize risks by facilitating social distancing shall be strictly implemented,” Montales said.
