The House passed bipartisan legislation Thursday to give small businesses more flexibility with the loans they received during the coronavirus pandemic to keep their businesses afloat. During the pandemic, Congress allocated $659 billion to small businesses in PPP loans that could be converted to grants if they met certain requirements. Major elements of PPP flexibility program were included the $3 trillion HEROES Act the House already passed. But since that legislation is stalled in the Senate and won't become law, lawmakers wanted to pass the small business component immediately to help out struggling businesses. The only "no" vote in the House on the PPP legislation was Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.
