Firefighters have been called to a significant house fire in the Dunedin suburb of Wakari. Crews from St Kilda and Dunedin were called to the fire, on Mayfield Ave, at 11.45am. They found the single storey property, which consists of two separate units, well involved, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said. A photo of the house shows it has been significantly damaged. Smoke was still spewing from the house, but there were no visible flames.
