Share TweetBy Charissa Luci-AtienzaThe House Committee on Tourism has approved a bill seeking to declare the municipality of Ubay in the province of Bohol as the Farm Tourism Destination Capital of Bohol. The panel, chaired by Davao Oriental Rep. Corazon Nuñez-Malanyaon, passed House Bill 6502, filed by Bohol Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado. “Farm tourism also serves as the catalyst for the development of agriculture and fishery communities, and provide additional income for farmers, farm workers and fisherfolk,” he said. HB 6502 provides that accredited farm tourism destinations in Ubay may avail of the privileges and benefits under Republic Act 10816, otherwise known as the Farm Tourism Development Act of 2016.
