The House of Representatives has approved the P1.16 billion supplemental budget for the Dengvaxia Assistance Fund on third reading late Tuesday. The fund will be used to treat those who were injected with Dengvaxia. Before midnight on Tuesday, 231 lawmakers voted in favor of House Bill 7449 that was certified as urgent by President Rodrigo Duterte. The fund will cover all the 900,000 individuals inoculated with the anti-dengue vaccine who got sick or will fall sick, regardless if their illness is Dengvaxia-related or not. Without admitting any wrongdoing, Sanofi returned P1.16 billion to the Department of Health for the unused doses of vaccine.
