The sleuths reported that they found Mwelu immersed in a basin full of blood from a dead fowl while the witch doctor recited incantations. Upon noticing the presence of the officers, the witch doctor persisted in the incantations in an attempt to scare them and derail their mission. The detectives also recovered jewelry that was part of the stolen valuables from the woman’s employer. Mwelu had allegedly stolen the Ksh 4 million from Charity Waithira’s home in Karen where she was working as a house help on June 22. An assortment of jewelry recovered from the suspect.
