House Democrats relent to GOP demands and move Supreme Court security bill

Even though the Senate passed a bill last month with the consent of all 100 senators to increase security for justices and their families, House Democrats had not taken up the bill. Instead, Democrats had sought to change the bill to include security for Supreme Court clerks and staff. Hoyer told McCarthy on Thursday morning that Democrats wanted to amend the bill to include protections for court staff.
