Hotel Saravana Bhavan owner Rajagopal dies


P. Rajagopal (73), owner of the Saravana Bhavan chain of restaurants, died in a Chennai hospital on Thursday. Rajagopal (73) was the first accused in the kidnap and murder of Prince Santhakumar, a hotel staff, in 2001. In 2009, the Madras High Court sentenced him and five others to life imprisonment. Immediately after his surrender, he was admitted in the Government Stanley Hospital in the city as his condition worsened. After a court order, Rajagopal was shifted to the private hospital in Vadapalani.
