A heat warning continues in Ottawa-Gatineau today as the region faces what is likely its hottest day of the year. Friday will be much less humid with a high of 27 C, though there is still a 40 per cent chance of showers in the forecast. A southwest wind should also gust to 40 kilometres per hour in the morning. Environment Canada first issued the heat warning late Monday and that continues as Wednesday's high is 33 C with the humidex reaching 41 at 1 p.m. in the capital region. The temperature had reached 20 C before 6 a.m. Wednesday and the humidity was above 80 per cent.
