For Mohamad Keanudin Mohamad Azman, better known as Keanu Azman, Ramadan is a month when he makes a conscious effort to maximise his time for performing ibadah. “Normally I read about five to 10 pages a day, but during Ramadan I try to read around 30 pages daily because I want to complete the whole Quran within the month. “During Ramadan, there are fewer distractions, so you tend to read without any issues.”On the flip side, Keanu says he makes a conscious effort to curb unnecessary chatter. “I also prefer not to go to Ramadan bazaar,” he adds. There’s about 90,000 tonnes of food waste during Ramadan, and I don’t want to be part of that.”(It was reported that in 2023, 90,000 tonnes of food was dumped during Ramadan.)
