CAIRO, 19 April 2021: Hossam El-Badry, Egypt's coach, decided to award the captaincy to Mohamed Salah. The coaching staff explained that the decision came after informing the players who preceded Salah in terms of seniority and who supported this step. Egypt will compete in the World Cup qualifiers starting next June and the second phase ends in October. The Egyptian national team is located in Group F, next to the national teams of Gabon, Angola and Libya. Mohamed Salah began his career with the Egyptian national team in 2011.
