Most hospitals have experienced difficulty separating Covid and non-Covid patients due to the outdated layout of buildings, a new report has revealed. They included Naas General Hospital, University Hospital Kerry, Mayo University Hospital, South Tipperary General Hospital, Tallaght Hospital and Wexford General. Hiqa said the Covid-19 pandemic has left some hospitals, already struggling with lack of staff and cramped conditions, worse off. “In many hospitals, ongoing challenges posed by poor physical infrastructure and constrained service capacity continued to be identified by Hiqa. These issues have been worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic.”Hospitals which were passed as compliant included University Hospital Limerick, University Hospital Waterford, Mullingar Hospital and Letterkenny University Hospital.
