Hospital flood repair bill approaches €1m

An Irish hospital hit by flooding last summer after torrential rainfall faces a repair bill which is now likely to approach €1m. University Hospital Kerry (UHK) was forced to shut certain areas of its campus last June as heavy rainfall in Tralee resulted in widespread local flooding. UHK has now confirmed that the flood repair bill currently stands at €870,000. There are fears it could reach €1m by the time all repairs, equipment upgrades and remedial works are completed. The equipment involved will replicate equipment in use in other HSE-run hospitals nationwide.
