Hospital dismisses staff member accused of scamming 190 house officers


SHAH ALAM: Tunku Azizah Hospital (HTA) has terminated the services of a MySTEP personnel who is alleged to have been involved in a scam that caused losses totalling RM47,120, involving 190 house officers, Sinar Harian reports. “HTA stresses that no cash collection or transfers to staff members’ personal accounts are permitted for any official matter, including reimbursement of emoluments or course fees. According to the statement, engagement sessions were also held with the affected house officers to hear their complaints and to gather complete transaction information to assist further investigations. “HTA will not compromise with any staff member involved in integrity misconduct or any criminal activity that affects the welfare of other staff and the good name of the Health Ministry,” it said. “We greatly appreciate the dedication of the house officers who serve around the clock, and we will not allow the hospital’s integrity to be tarnished by the irresponsible actions of any individual,” it said.
