The Hospital Authority Employees Alliance said it opposes the coronavirus testing center in the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC), as the authority’s office is located there. The testing centre is at the Star Hall on the third floor of the centre, the alliance chairwoman, Winnie Yu wai-ming, said. KITEC told Yu through an email that several measures will be taken, including sealing off the outer area of Star Hall. “Will they have to leave the venue immediately, or are participants who finished testing allowed to dine-in at restaurants in the KITEC mall?” Yu said. Yu is also worried that setting up a testing center at KITEC will increase the risk of cross-contamination in the venue and shuttle buses.
