The Horowhenua-Kāpiti Bears put in a strong showing at this year's Chapple Cup in Napier. CRICKET: The Horowhenua-Kāpiti team has continued its good form with a third-equal finish at the Chapple Cup. Hawke's Bay beat Manawatū in the final of the Central Districts 50-over tournament in Napier last weekend, but the Horowhenua-Kāpiti Bears go home satisfied with their performances. Going into the game, Horowhenua-Kāpiti resembled a hospital casualty ward and at one stage it looked as though they would not be able to field 11 fit players. Hawke's Bay made 255 all out in the 46th over and the Bears replied with 135.
