Dozens have posted photographs of the village, nicknamed “the Venice of the Cotswolds”, showing it almost entirely tourist-free. The Gloucestershire village — with its chocolate-box cottages and 17th-century bridges that cross the River Windrush — is attracting up to 10,000 visitors a day. “Since the lockdown lifted, the place has gone berserk,” said Bill Limbrick, 74, a retired farmer who has lived locally for nearly 50 years.
