Now, 14 years later, Alana Kairaoi, as she is now known, is walking the corridors of Roxburgh Area School, and hitting some balls at the local courts. She is the head of physical education at the school, and in between teaching and catching up with family she is still playing squash. A return to Roxburgh to be closer to parents Mark and Linda and sister Lisa, who has three daughters, was irresistible.
