The airport has enlisted the help of robotic cleaners, while passengers will also use full-body disinfection booths. Steven Yiu, Deputy Director, Service Delivery of the Hong Kong Airport Authority (AA), said: “The safety and wellbeing of airport staff and passengers are always our first priority. The interior surface of the booth is equipped with an antimicrobial coating that can remotely kill viruses and bacteria on the human body and clothing. The robots are equipped with a UV light steriliser and air steriliser, and are being used in the airport toilets, as well as in key operating areas. According tot he report, the robots can sterilise up to 99.99% of bacteria in their vicinity in just 10 minutes.
