Members of the All India Homoeopathic Doctors' Federation said on Sunday that they would begin a two-day rally here on Monday in support of the Centre's bill to create a new medical regulatory agency. The bill also proposes to develop bridge courses for degree-holders in homoeopathy, ayurveda, unani and siddha to enable them to prescribe modern medicines. But the Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association (IHMA) is opposing the proposal for the bridge course. "However, some homoeopathic associations in north India appear to be supportive of the proposal," Kumar said. Homoeopaths are well-qualified to recognise patients with acute illnesses that need modern medicine intervention and could refer such patients to modern practitioners, Ravindran said.
