Homeowners still frustrated as Maine looks to take over part of the Forest City dam


Despite finding an interested buyer in the State of Maine, the unclear future of the Forest City dam has homeowners in the area frustrated. Woodland Pulp failed to win exemption from the jurisdiction of FERC. The dam is operated, Townsend said, for a number of reasons. The St. Croix River dam near Forest City affects the water levels in East Grand Lake and North Lake on the New Brunswick-Maine border. And now that Woodland Pulp is attempting to transfer away from FERC, it's frustrating for those in the area.
