PHOTO / COURTESYVincent Omondi, the homeless ‘saint’ who warmed the hearts of many Kenyans for his honesty, has finally checked into a rehabilitation center, a family member has confirmed. Omondi’s sister Beryl on Thursday told Nairobi News on phone that her brother had been taken to an undisclosed rehabilitation centre. Kenyans then went on a hunt for Mr Omondi, a move that made him to hibernate from the streets the whole of Wednesday. On Thursday, though, photos of a clean and neatly dresses Mr Omondi emerged and his sister Beryl confirmed that indeed he had started his recovery journey. But a source close to the family said Mr Omondi may have been depressed after his mother succumbed to cancer in 2008.
