Home minister sees no party feud behind attack on Hindus at Nasirnagar

“I would have informed the prime minister if there was any indication of internal conflicts among party politicians,” Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told reporters on Wednesday. “The attack was the result of a conspiracy, which is what we noticed and is evident to us. A bdnews24.com investigation into the Oct 30 attacks found that the violence had been the result of a feud between local MP Md Sayedul Hoque, who is also fisheries minister, and MP RAM Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, chief of the ruling Awami League’s Brahmanbarhia district unit. Police formed a probe committee following widespread criticism and allegations of negligence on their part in dealing with the violence unleashed on the Hindu community.
